Matt Pokora, Jul and SCH in mini football jerseys for Unicef

After the remarkable comeback on the catwalks of the iconic low-rise mini skirts of the 2000s and ultra-loose boxer shorts, it’s the turn of a garment that has nothing to envy to the biggest luxury houses to make its return in majesty: the mini football shorts. And if this piece of 100% polyester fabric, antiperspirant, tight and not always protruding, stirred up the Web last night, it was on the occasion of a very special event: the Heroes’ Match.

 

Opposing two new teams,  the OM team and the Unicef team, brought together on the field for charity purposes,  this summit meeting caused a lot of reaction on Twitter, for several reasons. On the lawn of the Vélodrome stadium, the match that took place last night and which raised €427,250 for the education of children in Côte d’Ivoire, featured, like a reality show, French football stars… but not only. We discovered, puff in the wind, the Marseille rapper JUL who amused the gallery with his famous “sign” and his impressive dribbling; his compatriot SCH, who had taken off his legendary glasses for the occasion or Matt Pokora, darling of the 2000s who returned to stage for a good cause; and the famous judoka Teddy Riner. The match ended in a defeat for the Unicef  team (7-4), which was clearly no match for the former players of the Marseille club, including Djibril Cissé, Didier Droga (author of a hat-trick)  and Samir Nasri, all retired today.
