- Cookies
When consulting the Site, information relating to the Internet user’s browsing via his or her terminal (computer, tablet, smartphone, etc.) may be recorded in “cookie” files (alphanumeric identifiers or other trackers) installed on the said terminal, subject to the choices expressed below by the Internet user concerning the said cookies (which choices may be modified at any time) and the settings of the browser software used.
The retention period of the information relating to the Internet user’s browsing provided by cookie on the Site will not exceed a maximum of thirteen (13) months .
Cookies allow Numéro Presse, without personally identifying the Internet user:
– memorize information relating to a form that they may have filled in on the Site (registration or access to their account) or to products, services or information that they have chosen or consulted on the Site;
– to allow the Internet user to access reserved and personal areas of the Site, such as their account, thanks to identifiers or data previously communicated;
– implement security measures, for example when the user is asked to connect again to content or a service after a certain period of time.
Several possibilities are offered to Internet users to manage cookies (any configuration undertaken by the Internet user will be likely to modify their browsing on the Internet and their conditions of access to certain services of the Site requiring the use of cookies):
– The Internet user can configure his browser software so that cookies are saved on his terminal or, on the contrary, that they are rejected, either systematically or according to their issuer. They can also configure their browser software so that the acceptance or refusal of cookies is offered on an ad hoc basis, before a cookie is likely to be stored on their terminal;
– If the Internet user accepts the recording of cookies in his browser software, the cookies integrated into the pages and content he has consulted may be temporarily stored in a dedicated space on his terminal. They will be readable only by their sender;
– if, on the other hand, the Internet user refuses to allow cookies to be stored on his terminal, or if he deletes those that are stored there, he will no longer be able to benefit from a certain number of features that are nevertheless necessary to browse certain areas of the Site. This will be the case if they try to access content or services that require identification or when Numéro Presse – or its technical service providers – cannot recognise, for technical compatibility purposes, the type of browser used by the Internet user’s terminal, its language and display settings or the country from which the said terminal appears to be connected to the Internet.
In this case, Numéro Presse declines all responsibility for the consequences related to the degraded functioning of its Site and/or its services resulting from the impossibility of saving or consulting the cookies necessary for their operation and that the Internet user has refused or deleted.
For the management of cookies and their choices by the Internet user, the configuration of each browser is different. It is described in the browser’s help menu, to which the user is recommended to refer.
