Balmain and Rossignol sign a collection that blends glamour and winter sports

With winter fast approaching, Balmain artistic director Olivier Rousteing has teamed up with winter sports label Rossignol to create a capsule collection as glamorous as it is sportswear.

From his youth in the heart of Savoie, Pierre Balmain practiced many of yesterday’s sports, especially skiing, and developed a real passion for the mountains, a passion instilled in him by his mother, Françoise. After opening his couture house in 1945 and enjoying success with his elegant dresses and suits, the designer was even chosen to design the uniforms for the Olympic staff when France was chosen to host the 1968 Winter Games in Grenoble. This year, 2021, Olivier Rousteing, who has headed Balmain’s artistic direction for the past ten years, hopes to perpetuate the couturier’s love of winter sports and the mountains.

To achieve this, the designer collaborated with Rossignol, a label specializing in mountain clothing and accessories, to unveil a capsule collection combining sportswear, performance and glamour. On the program: ski suits, knitwear, coats, down jackets and après-ski boots, all in variations of Balmain‘s emblematic “Labyrinthe” print, a graphic motif imagined by its founder fifty years ago. The collection also includes a pair of skis, gloves, helmets and ski poles, so you can wear Balmain chic while enjoying winter sports.
