Joker : Folie à deux avec Lady Gaga et Joaquin Phoenix 

C’est une mission de taille pour la chanteuse Lady Gaga. La star sera, le 2 octobre 2024, à l’affiche du film Joker : Folie à Deux. Stefani Germanotta, de son vrai nom, qui campe le rôle de l’iconique personnage d’Harley Quinn, donnera la réplique à l’acteur oscarisé de 49 ans Joaquin Phoenix, déjà présent dans le premier volet intitulé Joker de 2019. 

Succès public et critique, le long-métrage, réalisé par Todd Phillips, avait généré presque 1 milliard de dollars de recettes au box-office mondial à sa sortie et a remporté deux Oscars ainsi que le Lion d’Or lors de la 76e édition de la Mostra de Venise.

Interprété par Margot Robbie dans les deux Suicide Squad (2016 et 2021) et Birds of Prey (2020), le personnage d’Harley Quinn est l’un des plus populaires de l’univers de DC Comics.

Le tournage sombre du Joker : Folie à Deux

Autre bonne nouvelle pour les fans de la chanteuse : le titre du film Joker : Folie à deux semble indiquer que le personnage féminin joue un rôle aussi important que le personnage masculin. 

Le terme est aussi une expression utilisée dans un contexte psychiatrique. Dans ce contexte, la « folie à deux » désigne une situation clinique au sein de laquelle une personne, au contact prolongé d’un individu délirant, finie par adopter le même comportement qu’elle. 

Tout laisse donc à penser que ce nouveau Joker, que des rumeurs annoncent comme plus violent que le premier volet, met en lumière le côté obscur de la psyché humaine.

Et l’actrice d’A Star Is Born (2018) réalisé par Bradley Cooper, qui avait remporté un Oscar pour sa chanson Shallow présente sur la BO du film, semble être parfaite pour jouer ce personnage. Selon Variety, ce nouveau long-métrage est une comédie musicale. Lady Gaga pourra donc mettre sa voix puissante au service du film. 

Le média américain explique également qu’il s’agira d' »un juke-box« , comprenant « au moins quinze réinterprétations de chansons très célèbres (…). Dont une devrait être la chanson « That’s Entertainment! », tirée du film musical de 1953 Tous en scène, et associé à Judy Garland. » Le média ajoute qu »il y aura de la place pour une ou deux chansons originales« , qui devraient être composées par la musicienne islandaise Hildur Guðnadóttir (Tár). 

Autre point commun avec Lady Gaga ? Comme Harley Quinn, qui dans le comics, est d’abord la psychiatre du Joker, avant de tomber amoureuse du clown torturé et de devenir sa partenaire dans le crime, elle partage aussi un goût prononcé pour les looks excentriques et les mises en beauté travaillées. 

Si jusqu’à présent, on ignore encore l’intrigue précise du film, les premières photos de la chanteuse et actrice américaine, dévoilées par le réalisateur Todd Phillips ou prises à son insu, sont alléchantes.

On y voit Lady Gaga arborer le costume d’Harley Quinn. En tailleur rouge, jupe en cuir noire et maquillage clownesque, l’actrice est escortée par une dizaine de policiers à New York (Gotham City dans le film). Sur un autre cliché, la superstar au carré court blond peroxydé semble avoir le regard vide, son visage étant seulement illuminé par un maquillage imprécis. 

Sur d’autres clichés, sombres et intenses, on découvre Joaquin Phoenix en train d’être rasé par un autre homme dans ce qui pourrait être un asile sur l’une d’entre elles et une Lady Gaga terrifiée par le Joker après un baiser.
